12 Inning Effort Crushed by Rudy Seanez

The game went 12 innings. 12 long innings, 4 hours, and the Red Sox lost it as soon as Rudy Seanez entered the game. Exactly.

If I gave you one guess as to which Red Sox players hit back-to-back HRs, who would you say? I would say David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez and I would be right. Manny's first homerun of the year was also his 48th against Toronto. Joe and Jerry informed me that Manny and Ortiz have both hit HRs in the same game 31 times. Manny would go on to hit another HR.

Bases loaded, top of the 8th. Youkilis is up. He struck out. I swear they've been screwing up more bases loaded situations this season than ever before.

Beckett didn't have as good an outing as before. He gave up 5 runs, walked 2, and only struck out 3. I like to see a very high SO number, so three is disappointing to me. Plus, he gave up three homeruns, which is very bad.

Then Timlin came in and immediately gave up a homerun! WHAT??! The game was tied after we'd had a 6-2 lead just a half-inning ago.

In Kevin Millar news, he hit a single with the bases loaded against the Yankees to put Baltimore back in the lead.

Johnny Damon! I had the pleasure of watching him hit a weak one to the 2nd baseman with bases loaded and 2 outs. It was certainly enjoyable. The Yankees lost 6-5 and had bases loaded in the 9th, but they too screwed up a lot of bases loaded innings. Too bad!

And Bronson Arroyo is now 3-0.

Lenny DiNardo has to face Roy Halladay today at 1. Roy Halladay is really, really good. DiNardo is not. Let's hope for some huge offense.

WEEI Quote of the Day:
Jerry: What are the chances of Tommy John having Tommy John surgery?
Joe: He had it.
Jerry: It worked!
