Clement Gets Knocked Around Again

4th inning and the Sox were down 6-0. Wasn't looking good, but slowly the score became more agreeable... 6-1 (Coco Crisp homerun) ...6-3 (Manny HR with Ortiz on) ...6-6 (Varitek HR with Loretta and Ortiz on)!

Tied in the 8th. I saw David Riske was coming in and resigned myself to the fact that we were going to be losing at the end of the inning. And we were, as he gave up a run. Coco made a great catch to get the second out, Foulke came in with 2 men on and got the third out with one pitch.

Then we lost. 7-6.

Clement himself called this outing "disastrous," as he left the game down 6-0 after 3 1/3 innings. He feels "disappointed to the point that it's embarrassing...I feel like I let the team down." Well, yeah.

Here's my suggestion: Lose the goatee?/ball of hair thing growing on your chin and see if it helps. Can't hurt to try.

And David Wells will not be pitching tomorrow but it doesn't look like he'll be on the DL again.
