David Ortiz = RBI Machine
Grand slam in the 2nd inning! Hit by none other than David Ortiz and with 2 outs. And he did it on the first pitch, again. A grand slam in Fenway. I was there for one of those, a long time ago, and it's a great thing to be there for.
Jon Lester had 7 strikeouts through the first 4 innings, which not only sounds good but he was in the process of creating a new career-high in strikeouts. I know, not like he's had a lot of time to do that, but it's still worth mentioning. He finished the game with 10 SOs.
Ramirez, Nixon, and Varitek each contributed some RBI and the final score was 9-3. These interleague games are going incredibly well for Boston, who haven't lost one yet. The streak WILL continue on Friday when Beckett takes on Philadelphia at Fenway.
The Red Sox got a new pitcher, Jason Johnson, from the Indians. This year, he has gone 3-8 with a 5.96 ERA in 14 starts. RedSox.com has more information on the right-hander.
