How About that Offense?!

Back to back homeruns: Manny and Trot! I was just reading an article about Nixon's less-than-stellar offense; I suppose he didn't like that too much. He even ran through a stop sign; he was feeling it last night. As you can tell, if the clearly unbiased Manny says he was safe, then he was safe. And he was.
Curt Schilling was having a good night, so I guess the reason why he came out after 6 was because of his high pitch count (105). They brought Delcarmen in, who didn't get an out before he let 3 singles turn into a run. That made it a one-run game, but he found his rhythm and didn't allow any more runs. And then it started. The Sox proceeded to score 6 runs in the 8th inning, and another in the 9th. A bases loaded walk, Varitek double (that cleared the bases, it was also when Nixon went through the sign), Crisp single, and Gonz force out removed all the nervousness from Sox fans (those that were still awake, that is). "One of the luxuries of pitching for this offense is -- this offense," Schilling said.
So by the time it became clear that Oakland had no chance of catching up, Tavarez and Seanez were allowed to pitch. And I say, it should be the only times they're allowed to pitch - when a 6-run lead is in place. Well, maybe a little bigger lead for Seanez.
The best thing about this win for Schilling? "It means that [Beckett's] got to keep his mouth shut for another four days."
