Lester was ON

Jon Lester was AWESOME last night. He went 8 innings, only threw 100 pitches, and only allowed one hit. ONE HIT. This win makes him 5-0, and it also makes him the first Red Sox rookie to win his first five decisions since Aaron Sele won his first six in 1993. Promising, promising, promising.

The one KC hit was almost not to be, too:

Papelbon pitched a perfect 9th to get the 1-0 win. The only run scored came courtesy of a Gonz RBI single.
