Today Has the Potential to be the Best Day of the Year

Folks, today might be the best sports day that we get in a long, long while.

Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon final.

ITALY vs. FRANCE in the World Cup final.

The Red Sox can sweep the current World Champs if they win today.

I couldn't fall asleep last night I was so excited for today! It's like the Mecca of sports days for me, as I get baseball, tennis, and soccer all in the same day, and all people/teams that I like. I love tennis (as you may have figured out since I tell you all how it interferes with me seeing some Sox games), and I really need to see Federer beat Nadal. I do NOT like Nadal, and since Federer changed his hair I like him quite a bit. Obviously the Red Sox sweeping the White Sox would be an incredible way to end the first half of the season. Especially since they damn near got swept by Tampa Bay. And if the Yankees lost too, that'd be great. And this World Cup final? Wow.

I've been gunning for both Italy and France since the beginning (since I am Italian, French, and Irish), and this match-up is the best that I could have possibly hoped for. My Italian side is winning out, and I even got an Italia shirt just for today. So, the moral of this post is,

Go Red Sox! Go Federer! GO ITALY!!!

(Forgive me, the excitement of today caused me to veer very far into non-Red Sox territory.)
