Someone Stayed in About 10 Minutes Too Long
Doug Mirabelli wanted everyone to know he's back, so he hit himself a home run in the 3rd. Way to get back in the swing of things! Oh man, I'm funny.Schilling had a rough patch in the 5th and had men on 1st and 3rd with one out. Of course, he got out of it with a nice, simple double play.
That solo home run he gave up the next inning wasn't helpful, though.
But Wily Mo Pena hit a beautiful 3-run shot in the 7th to put the Sox up 4-2. He, unlike the rest of the team (excluding Mirabelli), proved that did not want to get swept.
Right around 100 pitches, Schilling started getting sloppy and gave up a double, an RBI-double, a walk, an RBI-double, an RBI-single..you think maybe they kept him in too long? By the end of the 8th inning, we were losing again.Another loss. 5 in a row. Swept by Kansas City. For the 1st time in KC since 1991! That's so incredibly wrong. It's like when Nadal beats Federer. Something is just not right.
SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!
