Disappointment

5 games left and the Red Sox are in 3rd place. That's the bronze medal. Bronze is lame.

Truly, it doesn't matter what place we finish in. The fact that the postseason is impossible is what matters the most. I was getting used to always playing for the WS, but I guess I shouldn't have gotten so complacent.

Here's what we have so far, in case anyone cares:
NLE: Mets
NLW: Padres or Dodgers
NLC: Cardinals, Astros, or Reds
ALE: NYY
ALW: A's or Angels
ALC: Tigers or Twins

I like the Angels (because of Vlad) so I'll take them in the ALW, I'll take either in the NLW, and obviously I want the Reds to pull off something huge in the NLC (or WC). The rest, though? Eh.

Oh, and if you have over $42,000 to blow, why not spend it on David Ortiz' 50th homerun ball? If I had that kind of money to spend on whatever I wanted, there is no way in hell I would buy that. These people should be giving their money to charity or something useful. But wait, the money is going to a worthy cause! A worthy cause obviously chosen by Ortiz himself, since it's the Plaza de la Salud Hospital de Niños in the Dominican Republic. Another reason to love Ortiz? I think so.
