It's Official
Dustin Pedroia with the leadoff HR. I need a name for him, because "Pedroia" isn't working for me.
Devern Hansack. No, that's not the bar I was at last night, that was Boston's pitcher today! It was his very first start at the ML level, and he did pretty okay. Gave up 3 runs over 5 innings, but the bullpen (Mike Burns) gave up 2 more and Boston only managed 3 runs, so...they lost.
With this loss, the Boston Red Sox are officially eliminated from the postseason race. And it stings. An October with no Red Sox is like a summer with no ice cream. Like a day without listening to Bronson Arroyo's CD. Like a DVR without new Office episodes stocked up. It just sucks.
All we have now is hope for more Ortiz home runs and that the Yankees lose in the ALDS. And what will we do about Manny's latest trade request? We obviously need him behind Ortiz, but since we keep trading away all the good players, I can see it happening. But I don't want it to!
