Not Over Until It's Over
Can you believe we're down to 4 remaining series before the regular season is over? Minnesota, Toronto, Tampa Bay, and the Orioles. I think a 12-0 record is in order.
Boston is 7.5 games out of the WC, and Minnesota is the top team. It could go down to 4.5 games in a few days. Then with 9 games left...clearly, I don't want to give up on this season until I'm forced to. Minnesota plays Boston, Baltimore, Kansas City (damn) and the White Sox. If Chicago and Minnesota remain the top 2 teams in the WC, theirs is going to be a really good series. Plus, the White Sox are on a losing streak, so maybe..
So who do we root for in the postseason? Besides the obvious whoever is playing NYY. Some teams aren't a lock yet, but the Mets sure are and I think I would like to see them win. I would LOVE it if a NY team won and it wasn't the Yankees. Looks like the Reds are out of it (and I say that even though they are out of the WC by less games than Boston, but they have 5 teams in front of them), I don't care for Oakland, and the Dodgers and Padres have a little fight going on in the NL West. I will probably root for whatever team comes out of there, because the Dodgers have so many former Sox and the Padres have Bellhorn and Roberts and oh, a lot of other former Sox as well.
