A New Champion

There you have it, your 2006 World Series Champions - the St. Louis Cardinals. Who in the hell would have guessed that?

Detroit is the only team to ever commit errors in each of the first 5 games of the WS. That is not a good stat, and is partially why they lost. They should have never started Verlander when they had a ready Kenny Rogers, and the defense was pretty much awful. The Tigers fell apart, and it wasn't very exciting when you knew after the first inning (when Verlander loaded the bases) who would win.

Well...congrats to the Cards, even though I was cheering against them and I don't like Suppan (I just saw his political stand in the response to Michael J. Fox ad!). On to next year!
