Halloween is over, and Red Sox news is flowing.
Alex Cora is the latest to file for free agency. Except for the ducking that I will never forget, he is a pretty good infielder. I don't really expect to see him next year, though.
Former Kansas City senior vice president and general manager Allard Baird has been named Theo Epstein's new assistant. I would like to be Theo's assistant, but I guess they prefer someone with a little more experience.
The Players Choice Awards nominees are up, with Ortiz and Papelbon in the mix. Papi is up for Player of the Year and AL Outstanding Player, and Jon is up for AL Outstanding Rookie. I think they should both win their respective categories. We'll find out November 8th.
Good news for the future: Boston had the best draft this year according to Baseball America. We have good things to look forward to!
