Plus Two
It has been way too long, people. Finally I can post about something exciting--the Red Sox are apparently set to sign Rocco Baldelli (from TB, who I am sure you remember hearing about during the postseason games; his mitochondrial disease, he's from RI, etc. Now they say he has a whole different, more treatable, disease) and John Smoltz from the Braves (which I was kind of surprised about, I am pretty sure he has ONLY played for Atlanta).
I think I remember Baldelli being pretty good, but he is an outfielder, and we have some of those already. My big question--I wonder how he feels about leaving TB just when they finally got good.
Then there's Smoltz, who is 41 and recovering from shoulder surgery.
Since my knowledge on both players is limited, I will keep my uninformed opinions to myself. What do you more knowledgeable folks think about this?
