Slow slow slow

Nothing new has been going on. Oh, except for some renewed Scott Boras hate, but that's not really new. I guess you can never have too many good pitchers, and Millwood going to Texas is not the best news. Since his agent is Boras, I guess you have to assume he wouldn't be signing with Boston. Seems like that man really hates the BoSox. Or maybe I'm still mad about Damon.

And on a better note, the Patriots won last night. But that's not really very surprising now, is it? Everyone knows they're looking much better as of late, and I'm getting excited about post-season stuff.

This sucks

Still reeling over the Damon news. Dan Shaughnessy's article is pretty spot-on. He mentions the fact that the Sox are now lacking a shortstop, a first baseman, a center fielder, and Theo. I believe I said a while back that losing Theo and Damon would make me cry forever, and I have to say that is still a possibility. Looks like this season is going to be a trainwreck. Seems like the front office is doing everything in their power to undo the goodness that Theo created, and they're starting by dismantling a World Series-winning team. Seeing Johnny in pinstripes might be the worst sight I will ever see. Can't the Yankees find their own people? Must they take all of ours?

And to all the fans who are saying this is for the best because Johnny will fall apart in 2 years -- shut up. It's still a million times better to have him than not to have him. I do not see the Yankees losing, like, EVER this season. Their lineup is Unbelievably good -- Damon, Jeter, Rodriguez, Sheffield, Giambi, Matsui (who I maintain is the most underrated player in all of baseball), Cano. I really hate all of those guys (except Damon, of course). As much as I want to hate him, I just can't. He was SO good for us, and I can't forget all the great things he did for the Red Sox. Of course, I still believe he is a traitor and a sell-out, just because he said he would never be a Yankee and it wasn't about the money. I'm sorry, but when you could make $40 million to stay with a team in a city that worships you, or get $12 million more to go to that team's enemy, you fucking stay. What the hell difference will $12 million more make when you are already set to make $40 million? $40 million alone is enough to last 5 people a lifetime. Greedy bastard. He has a pretty high opinion of himself too, calling himself the best leadoff hitter in the game. Man, it really makes me mad. So much for loyalty! When the almighty dollar beckons you, I guess you go to it. Whatever, Johnny, I hope you and your wife are happy with this stupid decision. I have a hunch the wife had a lot to do with it, didn't she have some fashion segment on NESN? I never got NESN because I went to school in NY, but something tells me that woman is all about the glitzy social scene, and NYC fits the bill.

And by the way, I have loved the New York Knicks forever and their season is just as depressing as this Damon crap.

Johnny and the Red Sox

I have been avoiding even the thought of Johnny Damon becoming a Yankee. If people mention it, I tune it out. I see articles about it and just don't read them. Now, when I see captions saying the Yankees are offering 5 years and the Red Sox are only offering 4, I pay attention.

The thought of losing yet another player to the Yankees makes me ill. Bellhorn was my FAVORITE and now he plays for NY. Embree, didn't really care for him but it's still weird, right. I can deal with those two leaving (and really, Arroyo had surpassed Bellhorn on the favorites list by then, anyway). But Damon? That I could never deal with.

How he can even consider it is beyond me. I don't really think it will happen. Didn't he say at one point that he didn't want to be a Yankee? Even if I made that up, I'm still going to believe it. The whole team is being torn apart, little by little, and it's making me really mad.

AND as if this isn't bad enough--Virginia apparently doesn't like Sports Illustrated or something and no stores here had the Tom Brady issue. It's like a conspiracy to keep me from getting it. Albany only had issues from the current week, and Richmond only has issues from next week. Problems everywhere, I know.

I'm weak

Mueller is gone and I am sad.

I will miss his defense, and his name. Because I had fun saying Billy Milly, no matter how stupid it is.

And this Nomar/Yankees crap? Whatever. I don't care too much and I doubt anyone else does, either.

"Restructuring"

Theo might come back?

Please, please don't tease me like that if y'all don't mean it.

Manny

I guess if we must lose Manny, Tejada is a pretty good get. We do need a shortstop, after all. I still can't believe we have 4 3rd basemen and no shortstop. But at least we have GMs now, which fixes something. I live closer to Baltimore than Boston, so if Manny went to the Orioles I could see him a whole lot. Yes, Manny, if you must go, go to me.

Patriots won 35-7. I hate the Bills, so this is extra awesome. I really used to like those stupid Bills too, but then I realized they are crap and I had to move on. Of course, I only liked them because I hate Dallas, so I guess my love was never really sincere. Not like the Patriots love, though. I should really, really move to Boston.

Edgar

So much for giving Renteria a chance.

The guy had a bad year. Bad compared to his previous years. So they trade him. For a THIRD BASEMAN. So how many 3rd basemen do they have now? Youkilis, Lowell, now Marte, and technically Mueller. And the number of shortstops they own? Zero! ZERO.

THEO I WANT YOU TO COME BACK NOW.

So I went to 4 different stores today looking for this:

Only to realize later it doesn't come out until next week. I felt pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty (TM Larry David) smart.
