Pretty Cool

The Sox officially announced today that Bartolo Colon (who was saddled with shoulder woes in 2005 and elbow problems last year) has signed a Minor League contract and will report to camp on Tuesday. I think this is a good deal.

Why?

Because I have heard of him! So he must be good!

Then again, I had heard of Eric Gagne before he signed with us, so....maybe not such a good sign after all.

I Miss Good News!

There really needs to be some interesting news soon, because I miss posting!

Let's see what I have here that is somewhat interesting...well, here's one that's bad: Manny switched his agent to the devil, Scott Boras. Why? I don't know...contract's almost up?

Too bad for the Sox....they're going to the White House on Wednesday.

What else? The Red Sox held their first official full-squad workout of the spring Friday. A spring-high of 1,906 fans attended. "Real" play starts soon, as they will open exhibition play Thursday at City of Palms Park with a day-night doubleheader against Boston College and Northeastern.

The battle between Coco and Jacoby for starting center fielder continues...with quotes from Ellsbury: "I'm just looking to get better as a player in spring training, and the competition is going to make us both better. Competition doesn't bother me at all." But....."I prepared the whole off-season to be a starter," he said yesterday. We'll see.

I miss baseball.

Drama!

Some drama! Schilling has been advised not to have shoulder surgery for his pained shoulder and this will be keeping him out until at least the All-Star break (opens up a pitching spot...). Schilling's doctor, Dr. Morgan, says NO, he needs the surgery! This dude says without surgery, Schilling won't be pitching at all this season, which is quite a bit different from what the Sox are saying.

Hmm. I'm sure Schilling's shoulder injury is more serious than mine, but the whole rest/relaxation/strengthen thing does work (if you keep at it, which I have not been doing..). Hopefully he'll be able to pitch this season, but he's gotta fix that stupid shoulder. They hurt when they're injured :(

WTF

The ONE time ALL SEASON I put on my Brady jersey.

SON OF A BITCH.

This is very disappointing. It was supposed to be the Red Sox, Novak, and New England.

At least they lost to a team I actually like. My grandfather was a HUGE Giants fan, so maybe it's not that bad.

But it still sucks, I cannot lie.

Why didn't they sack Manning when they had the chance?? They never would have scored the final touchdown of doom. What WAS that?!
