Oops

Apparently we are still in preseason mode. Clearly I don't know what the hell is going on. :)

Next week?! I think I am correct in saying the next real game is April 1st. For the Sox, anyway--I think other teams play real games 3/30 and 3/31. But who cares about other teams?

Timlin is already on the disabled list and we are 2 games into the season. Of course.

On an unrelated note, all of my NCAA teams are losing. In the order of who I like the most, let's see:
1. Georgetown (lost in the 2nd round after they were winning)
2. Villanova (went out last night in bad form)
3. Texas A&M (out in round 2, lost to UCLA by 2 MF points)
4. West Virginia (lost by FOUR points)
5. Georgia (the little team that could, but really couldn't)
6. Texas (hey, one of my teams won!)
7. Oklahoma (again, 2nd round and out)
8. Tennessee (they made it to the Sweet 16, at least)

And Syracuse didn't even make it, but they blew a 22 point lead (NIT).
If I pick you, you will lose. My apologies.

It Has Returned

Baseball has begun!

Yesterday the Sox played their first game of the season, in Japan, against the A's. And they won! Today, they again played the A's. But they lost. But that's okay because baseball is being played!

No games tomorrow but they will take on the Dodgers on Friday. Everyone else starts their seasons on Friday, I believe....the Sox are just so great they got to start early.

I still can't believe it's baseball time. That means summer is just around the corner!

P.S. I know I should have posted yesterday, but....I've got this test to study for, and it took forever, and...David Cook was on! Ahh! :)

Japan

So our team is in Japan now, getting ready to play--wait for it--the first game of the 2008 season!! AHH! There's also an exhibition game against the Hanshin Tigers that gets underway in a few hours, with Buchholz throwing.

But more importantly....wow, the season is about to begin! It seemed so far away when I put up 3/25 as the first game on the homepage, and now it is just about here. Unfortunately the 2 games in Japan are being played at 6:05 in the freaking AM. They are on ESPN2 though, so they will be taped and enjoyed later in the evening.

Baseball is like, so back. Life is about to get interesting again!

Problem

"I feel like Cash can do a good job," Wakefield said. "But I'm going to really miss Doug, not only his professionalism and the way he handled me and the comfort level that I had with him, but also his friendship. We've been together for eight years, accumulated a lot of wins and been through a lot of stuff together. It's unfortunate that it happened that way, but you kind of have to get past that and understand that I'm still an employee here and it's their decision to make.

"I spoke with [Cash] afterwards. He feels bad about it, but he's also excited that he's going to catch me. I told him that I don't have any doubts that he'll do a good job, because he proved that last year. It's just sad to see a good friend go, get released and go home. We've been through a lot together, so it's pretty tough."

Just when I thought I couldn't possibly get any more nervous about a Wakefield game, they go and let the only one who can catch him go. Sigh.
